ABOUT SANTIAGO PANI
Santiago’s work has formed part of numerous group and solo exhibitions in Mexico, United States, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands, and he has also participated in art fairs in Mexico City, Madrid, New York and Milan. He is the director of the artist residency Arthouse Holland & Arthouse Pani in Mexico.
“My recent portrait series “Personal Universe” is inspired by memories of the unnamed people we come across in our lives whose images are unconsciously stored in our brains and the idea that sometimes, while awake or during our dreams, these anonymous characters unwittingly resurface in our minds to interact and influence our life story. Lately these concepts and ideas have become increasingly important in my day to day existence,
as a result of which the production of these pieces has become a very visceral and organic process”.
