ABOUT ANDREA PEÑA
Andrea Peña, Mexican plastic artist, works and experiments with different materials and textures in her works. She finished her career in Fashion and Textile Design at CENTRO Cine y Televisión University in CDMX where she became interested in the ethnic groups and cultural customs of Mexico from their symbolism to their production. She continued her art path, studying different art courses, specializing in organic pigments and ancestral processes. She has had several solo exhibitions and more than 20 group exhibitions in different parts of the world.
Focusing on the experimentation of natural materials and connecting to nature, is where she finds her inspiration, looking for the reflection of the inner self andher connection to the earth. Now she makes her own natural paintings from start to
finish, as her ancestors did, using different plants, insects and minerals.
Also with her practice and connection to her ancestral roots is where she immerses herself to try to understand and interpret the mystery of the universal energy, to abstract the conscious and unconscious of this connection with the universe and humanity using her works to transmit her vision through the material, colors, shapes and textures.

Captivating an invisible life, Lisse 2019 – 2021. Position: project leader and visual artist of a large-scale artwork, involving students of Fioretti College in Lisse participating in an interdisciplinary art education program.
